Cookies & Tracking

Cookie Policy

This policy explains what cookies are, how Myshwel uses them, and the choices you have. We keep our tracking minimal, purposeful, and always under your control.

1 What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or phone) when you visit a website. They help websites remember information about your visit — like your cart contents, language preference, or whether you've already seen a message.

We also use related technologies such as local storage and pixels for the same purposes. Throughout this policy, "cookies" refers to all such technologies.

2 Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies for three specific purposes — nothing more:

  • To make the site work. Keeping your cart active, remembering your consent choice, and securing your checkout.
  • To understand how the site is used. Seeing which pages are popular, where users drop off, and how we can improve the experience.
  • To show relevant ads. Helping us reach people genuinely interested in lab-grown diamond jewellery, and avoiding wasted ad spend.

3 Categories of Cookies We Use

Category Purpose Can be disabled?
Essential Required for the site and cart to work. Includes Shopify session cookies, checkout security tokens, and remembering your cookie consent choice. Never used for tracking. No — the site cannot function without these.
Analytics Measures how visitors use our site — which pages they view, how long they stay, and where they exit. Helps us improve design and content. Examples: Google Analytics 4. Yes — via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
Marketing Used to show you relevant jewellery ads on Google, Meta (Facebook / Instagram), and similar platforms. Also measures which ads lead to actual purchases. Examples: Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion tags. Yes — via the cookie banner or your browser settings.

4 Third Parties We Work With

Some cookies are set by trusted third-party services we use to operate the store. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform. Sets essential session and cart cookies.
  • Google Analytics 4 — analytics. Tracks aggregate visitor behaviour.
  • Meta (Facebook / Instagram) — marketing. Tracks ad performance and enables retargeting.
  • Google Ads — marketing. Measures paid campaign conversions.
  • Payment Gateways — essential. Razorpay / Stripe / similar for secure transaction processing.

None of these third parties receive your name, email, phone number, or address without your action. Anonymous browsing data is what's shared by default.

5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You are always in control. You can change your cookie choices at any time using any of the methods below:

  • Cookie banner: Click "Manage Cookies" in the footer of any page to reopen the preferences panel and update your selections.
  • Browser settings: All major browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. See the Help section of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge for step-by-step instructions.
  • Opt out of specific services: Visit Google Analytics Opt-out or Meta Ad Preferences.

Blocking essential cookies may prevent our cart, checkout, and custom design tools from working properly.

6 Change Your Preference Now

You can update your cookie consent at any time. Your current choice is saved on this device only.

7 Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is currently no industry-wide standard for how websites should respond to DNT, we do not act on those signals. Instead, we rely on the cookie preferences you actively set on our site.

8 How Long Do Cookies Stay?

Cookie lifetimes vary depending on their purpose:

  • Session cookies — expire when you close your browser (e.g. cart during browsing).
  • Persistent cookies — remain for a defined period (e.g. your consent choice is remembered for 12 months).
  • Analytics cookies — typically up to 24 months.
  • Marketing cookies — typically up to 13 months.

9 Policy Updates

We may update this Cookie Policy whenever we add or remove a tool, or when legal requirements change. If we make a material change — such as adding a new tracking category — we will re-prompt you to give fresh consent. The revision date at the bottom of this page is always kept current.

Questions About Cookies?
